Leanette has been an important part of A Spring of Hope since we first met her at Beretta Primary School in 2005 and promised to drill a borehole at her school. In this story, Peach Ratshana sits down with Leanette and talks about Beretta, water, and her passion for permaculture.

It is a day on which to be inspired and take action to make a difference for those who can’t take water for granted. We celebrated Nelson Mandela’s birthday in New York at Madiba Restaurant in Harlem on July 18th. We remembered Madiba by joining hands with him with a special commemorative poster and celebrated this great man and his contributions to making this world a better place! Our goal was to raise funds for two schools – Nkalane Primary School and Thandokazi Primary School – that were close to his heart in his home village of Qunu.
The special commemorative poster “Join Hands with Mandela” is still available for purchase in our store.
