Our Olive Oil Story
A Spring of Hope, like many charities in 2020, had a difficult time raising funds. I was exploring different ways to help ASoH. I had recently moved to Northern California and found a house with over 100 olive trees. My idea was to produce a delicious olive oil and donate it to A Spring of Hope. That plan unfortunately took a different turn, as we lost our home in one of the many wildfires that ravaged California that year. Most of our olive trees survived, but were singed and not usable. I reached out to a local man who maintains olive orchards. He knew of someone that would sell me their crop. I purchased these wonderful Italian varieties and produced A Spring of Hope Olive Oil!
Donations from this olive oil will enable us to purchase olive trees for our Permaculture Centre in Acornhoek, South Africa. We recently met with an olive oil producer from Cape Town who is guiding us on tree selection, soil analysis and best methods for a successful olive orchard. We will also be exploring making a tea from the leaves. We are very excited about this new venture!

We are thrilled to announce the release of our exclusive limited edition olive oil. This olive oil is made from a blend of 25 year old Tuscan olives, organically farmed in Napa Valley, California and milled especially for A Spring of Hope. This beautiful blend of Frantolo, Leccino, and Pendolino olives creates a mild, pleasant, green and fruity oil. For every bottle sold, an olive tree will be planted at A Spring of Hope’s Permaculture Center in Acornhoek. Olives grown and cared for by our team will be pressed in South Africa to create an olive oil that will support our WASh+ efforts for years to come.
